Source: Lone Star Republic sets yet another UPSL transfer record, signs Brazilian playmaker David Roberto Gaucho from Corinthians in Brazil
Brazilian soccer players are always a hot commodity in the transfer market, so when a player becomes so easily available it’s hard to turn down the opportunity to sign him.
Lone Star Republic has reportedly jumped on the opportunity to sign David Roberto Gaucho from Corinthians in Brazil, making him the club’s first foreign transfer and breaking the club’s BAM (Bank Account Money) record. The price tag was steep, but club leadership knows what has to be done to continue to climb the UPSL ladder.
“It was a no brainer. One hundred golazos is a lot of golazos,” said Tyler Watterson. “We only had 4 or 5 golazos in our entire Spring season!”
“I sent the money within minutes of receiving the email.”
After winning promotion from the 2nd division of the 5th division of American soccer, the club knew that the next step would require more investment. The 1st division of the 5th division of American soccer is the goal, and they believe this signing will be a massive step towards another promotion.
Gaucho is expected to report to training camp next Monday, August 5th. Until then, Watterson will be patiently awaiting his new signing and excited to see head coach Zach Loyd’s feedback once he gets here.
“There is no way this doesn’t work out,” added Watterson. “One hundred golazos, wow.”
