Zach Loyd, please text me back.
If you see Zach could you ask him to text me, please? He didn't show up to our game on Sunday.
I think I may have screwed things up.
Zach - if you’re reading, please text me back. I was wrong. I may have upset you with my previous post, questioning your resume and qualifications to coach a bottom-division local semi-professional soccer startup club, but I thought I was doing what was best for us.
Pelon scored a hattrick Sunday. It was glorious. You would have loved it.
We could have enjoyed that together. It felt pretty empty without you there.
My $70 signing - excuse me, our $70 signing - showing why we invested so much in him.
Instead, after failing to bring home a victory against bottom-of-the-table Azul City Premier FC in Fort Worth, I’m starting to realize that veteran MLS and national team experience and an “A” coaching license may be more valuable than I thought.
It may be a slight step above my failed NCAA D2 college career resume—maybe—but after switching mid-game from your 4-3-3 with two D-mids to a 4-3-3 with one D-mid, I was out of tactical ideas.
Sure, maybe one day Mino Raiola will respond to my emails about Mourinho’s future employment at the club. Maybe Pep will see our squad on Instagram @lsrsoccer and see a project worth taking on once he’s done at City.
But, for now, you’re the best available coach in the North Dallas/Richardson area. And I want you back.
We may not have much right now, Zach, but I promise we will make it as a club. One day you will see it was worth sticking around.
If you just didn’t want to drive to Fort Worth, that’s fine! Literally no one wants to drive to Fort Worth. Ever.
But I would have driven. Or even paid for your gas! I could have gotten you an Uber. Lyft? Turo? Favor? GrubHub? It’s 2019, Zach. Low-wage transportation should not be an issue.
Zach, if you’re reading this, we have a home game tonight against this same Azul City Premier team. Game starts at 8PM (watch.lonestarrepublic.com)
I’ll be there by 7. I hope you’ll stop by… maybe coach for a while? A chance at revenge from Sunday is at least worth a pregame speech…
Your spot on our sideline will always be open.
